Footprints Child Care is an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ day nursery and dedicated school ready pre-school based in Bamber Bridge, Preston. We are open for 51 weeks of the year, with sessions from 7.30am till 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. With over 200 years of practice in Early Years education, our highly experienced practitioners have a wealth of knowledge in teaching and providing family-oriented advice and guidance that supports both our families and their children. We pride ourselves on our strong relationships with parents, children and our wider community with substantial links to local schools and other local early years settings.

Whether you are looking for full-time or part-time childcare, our welcoming, purpose-designed environment provides enhanced facilities to enable the highest quality of care, learning, and education that meets all children’s needs. We take pride in getting to know you and your child so that we can facilitate a smooth transition from home to nursery, giving you peace of mind that your child is being cared for as you would do yourself.

Our purpose designed facility creates environments where children feel engaged, comforted and secure. Our childcare environments are co-ordinated across 3 age ranges, Babies 9 months – 2 years, Toddlers 2yrs – 3yrs, Pre-school 3yrs – 5yrs.

Lead by a Dedicated Team

Our dedicated senior management team oversee the daily running of the nursery and they have an ambitious attitude to the well-being of our children, families and our practitioners. It is very important to us that you feel comfortable and confident about leaving your child in our care.

Prices and Funding

We provide the Government 15 and 30 hours funding for working families on a 51 week basis. Families are able to select the required number of days/ sessions that they need to manage their own child care arrangements. Families who are not eligible for the Government funding can access our provision on a standard daily or session rate as detailed below.

Standard attendance (non-funded childcare) (min of 2 days)

Babies            Under 2’s:   50.50 per session, £71.00 full day

Toddlers        2yrs – 3yrs:  £50 per session, £70.50 full day

Pre-School  3yrs – 5yrs: £49.50 per session, £70.00 full day

Included in standard attendance is food, drinks, wipes and nappy creams. Standard Daily hours are 7.30am till 5.30pm (10hrs per day), Standard Session attendance (min of 2 sessions a week) 7.30am – 12.30pm or 12.30pm – 5.30pm (5hrs a session) Available 30 mins a day at hourly rate (5.30pm – 6.00pm) Monday to Friday

Government Funding

Total yearly funding to be claimed 570 hrs (11.18hrs a week) 1140 hrs (22.35hrs a week)

15 hours (11.18) Funding (min of 2 sessions a week) Split over 51 weeks of the year.

Each 5 hour funded session attracts a voluntary contribution (VC) for consumables and food of £4.00, unless you provide these items and food/ drink for every session. Funded sessions available Monday to Friday between 7.30am – 5.30pm. Any hours after 5.30pm will be charged at hourly rate.

VC: £4.00 per 5 hour for food, drinks, wipes and nappy creams (if not required, all items below should be provided by parents for every session)

Opt out policy: Should you wish to opt out of food and consumable contributions, you may provide your own items as follows:

Breakfast: non sugared cereals, toast, crumpets, butter and Milk

Morning and afternoon snacks: 2 x types of fruit and 1 dry snack (acceptable fruits are apple, banana, pear, plum, orange, kiwi, grapes (cut diagonally) mango, pineapple. Dry snacks include, crackers, breadsticks, rice cakes). All items are subject to change due to allergies and intolerances within the building.

Lunch and Tea: main meal that is nutritionally balanced and freshly prepared with no added sugars, salts or preservatives, at least 3 vegetarian meals and 2 meat meals each week along with at least two portions of fresh vegetables each day. Fresh drinking water and milk, 1 pint per day, wipes, creams.

You are welcome to look around the nursery at any time. We do not set appointments as we believe it is better to see us how we are, however, we find 11.30am till 2.00pm is a very busy time for us and ask that you try to avoid looking around at this time if at all possible. You can find us located on the corner of School Lane and Brindle Road in Bamber Bridge.
